Our marble’s marvellous
Fireplace maker Montpellier Marble proved a roaring success at a prestigious national competition.
The Staverton-based company was hot favourite at the Hearth and Home Awards in Harrogate with a white mantel costing £1,400.
It is the company’s third such award in five years of trading.
Managing director Eve Iravani said: “We’re up against some huge companies who spend fortunes on designing their products.
Once in a while, a new company will scoop an award but to get three is incredible.”
”We’ve become one of those brands that adds cachet to a showroom.”
The fireplaces are designed by her husband, Michael Fateh, and handmade using marble from the couple’s native Iran.
The company employs six people at its Staverton Technology Park showroom and has 30 employees making fire surrounds overseas.
Its products are sold by 200 stockists all over the UK.
